[Peace and harmony in Martial Arts for persons with Special Needs]
Born out of the desire to make Martial Arts accessable to persons with Special Needs this club was formed with the co-operation of the "Percy Hedley Foundation".
The syllabus is organic in such that it is developing as the intake of student participation expands. Practices taught have to be modified in order to accomodate the individual needs of the learner. Traditional practices are working in conjuction with new practices and theories. Barriers and misconceptions are being broken down every session as the learners expand their capabilities and strive to achieve all that they can be, bringing enlightenment to Teachers, Medical Carers and Learners themselves.
The facilities are customised to afford maximum safety and achievability. As progress developes students are encouraged to enter into mainstream classes in conjunction with Cobra Club sessions. Several have already done so with a unanimous vote of confidence that this system is proving it can meet its goals for many, whilst providing a stable and worthy Club in its own right for those who wish to remain in PAMMACC.
